I have to say being a gadget geek that this is an EXTREMELY cool mod, nicely done! The head unit with the screen seems like as important as the camera choice. Any shots of the whole dash including the screen? Is it one of those pop out screens or built in?

The head unit is a Pioneer P6600DVD. Its a DIN size unit that has a 6.5 flip up touch screen. I also installed a DIN size DEQ7600 EQ/Sound Processor under the the HU to help fill in the factory double DIN size opening.

This is with the screen out:

This is with the screen closed:

There are more pics of my system in my gallery....follow the link in my signature.

That's some cool SS/T! Your audio set up looks like it's from "Pimp my ride"!! Is there a cheap monitor set up? You know, just for the camera?

Some other guys on here have the camera/monitor only set up. I think it can be bought off ebay for $250-$300.

Look in my gallery....I have 3 additional screens (one in each front seat headrest and one in an modified overhead bin), the back-up camera and a Pioneer direct connect XM tuner. I have a couple amps to power the speakers (2 Kicker CVR-10s, Pioneer 6x8s in the rear doors and Alpine compents in the front doors) and I control them with a single DIN sized Pioneer DEQ-7600 Digital Signal Processor mounted under the head unit.

I think thats pretty much the outline of the whole system. I designed and installed everything myself....it hits decent and sound very good. I have had systems that hit harder but were not nearly as clear and clean as this one is, and thats what I was going for this time.

Let me know how the TV turner works...I have heard some good and some bad (mostly bad) things about them. I have been waiting on Direct TV to become avialable (with a antnena smaller than a Mini Cooper) but might at TV tuner if they work decent. After all they are cheap!

tv tuner

I have installed my tv tuner, the reception is pretty good, just like one at home that was antenna tv,I see all the channels good enough, I think it was worth the 60 bucks, the tuner was 40 and the antenna is powered, it was 20. The tv in the bin, how did you run the wiring and how did you mount it down.

Is that a Reese hard plastic hitch cover? The reason I ask is I owned one for ten or twenty minutes once (before it blew off). What a POS. Then I found a Reese rubber hitch cover, and it lasted a week or so. Needless to say, Reese will never get another dime from me.
