stx cluster
inbred/kcap, I've tried the procedure outlined in the manual and got the series of quick flashes that indicate the belt minder is turned off, but it didn't turn the stupid chime off. I think I'm living with it. Tony
went to have my fx4 programmed, for the dome light and chime to work when door is ajar, to Ford and they said that since it was a gauge cluster that had the message center, it couldnt be programmed. Is there any way to program this one? or do i have to get one without a message center?
Also, the FX4 panel has the Speedo on the right, the tach on the left, and the four little gauges in the center. The Odometer is LCD and in the same place as on the STX. The Tach and Speedo are the same size. The overall color scheme is red.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the response. Yes i do have the Fx4 cluster, and i did put this in my STX. Everything does work, however when i went to the dealer to reprogram for the infamous door chimes and dome light they said it couldn't be done. They also said that although this was an Fx4 cluster it was the wrong one and it could not be programed. They did try for quite sometime. I am completely baffled. I guess the bottom line is the STX wiring doesn't match the Fx4 cluster. Where did you get your cluster and how were you able to get it programed. Thanks, Jim
I don't think that dealership knew what it was doing. Try another place, and if they have a problem, ask them to call the Ford help line.
I got mine on e-bay, and had it programmed at Galpin Ford. They did it in about twenty minutes, that includes paperwork.
