is this normal???
is this normal???
when my truck is kinda cold, when i start it, it revs to almost 2500rpms, is this normal, it seems like it stays up there for a second or 2, but then it goes down to normal idle???
it seemed to be around or alittle above the 2,000rpm mark, 1st time it has done it was lastnight, and i had install my Superchips tuner yesterday moring, could it have anything to do with this???
i just went outside and tried it this morning, and it went up to about 1800rpm i would say, and went down to about 1500 and stayed for a few seconds, and then back down to 600rpms.....
I also installed Superchip program *87* and magnaflow SI/DO and the RPM does not change.

I have the SCT as well and today it was 24 deg outside at 6am, and the truck initially revd to around 1500-2000 and within 3-5 seconds it was down to 1100 and then after about 10-20 seconds it was down to 600.
dont worry guys, ive asked the tech's at the local dealership and they said it is completely normal for the rpm's to rise like that on a cold start. im not sure why it does that, but i know that all 04-05 f150's do it. just be sure not to slip it in drive or reverse when the rpm's are that high...she'll take off on ya!
