These issues are some of the reason's why I went with the Borla SI/DO system. It was the easiest system I ever installed and there was no issues at all. The brackets and hardware are excellent and the fitment was perfect. The spare tire and hitch didn't interfer either.

I thought about Borla but couldn't get over the routing of the driver's side pipe (behind the pumpkin). Every time I looked at it, I focused on the pipe.

I had the hassle of installing the hangers on my FX4 with hitch. Magnaflow 15834 SIDO. My Midas guy had cobbled the hanger installation several weeks ago. This past weekend I dropped the spare tire and dinked with the hangers again. Decided to shim the rear hanger brackets (with flat washers) to keep the hanger rod away from the inboard side of the frame ... hangers are now straight up and down. Its nice and solid. I'm much happier with the positioning. The shimming also allowed me to get the rear tips more aligned.

exhaust?

other than using headers on race cars and installing exhaust for a few years i've never used a performance exhaust. but i'll tell you what i did to my 04 as soon as i got it. i took it to our local 1/8 mile track and ran it got my time slips came back and cut off the exhaust behind the cats and ran out 2 1/2 inch pipes to the stock location, took it back to the track and ran 10.68 where i had been running 10.90's. and its not to loud eitherhttps://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=4704
