my front brakes had to be resurfaced at 6,000 miles on my 04 scab. the vibe never stopped, and the dealer finally replaced the rotors (under warranty) at 19,000 miles.
i thought it was steep alsobut i have the payload pack. the rotors are 7 lug and heavier plus come only with the hubs. cant get just rotors.called 3 other dealers just to make sure i wasn't getting jacked. all within a coupla bucks. $236 each wereasfor a 4x4 they are only $176 and $140 for 4x2, rotors only. plus pads & labor $932.23 + gov.Arnolds share about a grand. as i said, lesson learned.

Aren't they covered by warranty ?? How about if one has an extended warranty ??
Like Raoul said, wear items aren't, i.e. the brake pads themselves. The rotors usually are. For instance, if the pads are worn out by like 15K miles or so, some dealers (not all) may just have you pay for the pads and labor to install them, and cover resurfacing or replacing the rotors under warranty. All depends on your dealer.Aren't they covered by warranty ?? How about if one has an extended warranty ??

I had my replaced at 32,000 miles, the guy at the dealereship said it was warping from heat, and FORD replaced them for free because they said that it was there fault with the rototrs, not mine....
I say make a fuss..
have them check the ring and pinion before the warranty runs out

danosaves, also don't forget you live in Riverside, CA. In California, especially on the 91, there is just sooo much stop and go traffic, the brakes will wear out much faster.
We proberbly use our brakes more than most people here.

right you are jimbob. i was actually on the 91 when i heard the death knell of my rotors. too late to save it so i may as well finish the trip. san clemente and back. oh well. total ended up as $954. I used the other $46 to fill half my tank.on the good side, i now know the service rep. wont give me any grief over my intake or tuner!
