Like i said earlier mine are held on by the 3m sticky tape and they have held up through a very wide temperature range. As well I use a presure washer at least once a week and they are still as good as they day i put them on. As long as you install them as per the instructions you wont have any problems.

Why do you think the TFP packaging states, “for show and off-road use only"? They don't want to be responsible if they fall off doing 70 mph on the highway. I’m leery because the plastic handles aren’t the best surface for double stick tape.
TFPs are stainless steel Im pretty sure. I have them and I have had my truck much over 70mph and they haven't flown off. I've used this tape on my license plate frame to get rid of the annoying rattle on my last car but when I was taking it off I couldn't get it off without bending my license plate all to hell.

However I did use alchohol to clean my door handles before putting mine on.
