Clicking.....

Since i m deaf.

Kind of need your help since my wife has no CLUE about trucks/cars noise but she noticed theres "soft" clicking by passeneger side by Fender ( i have 5.4L) at idle.

Is it Cam phaser TSB ??

My engine runs like a champ...no sign of loss etc...

Thanks!

I noticed this as well. Further investigation revealed a relay cycling on and off in the right kick panel- (fuse block). Some kind of control- associated with air conditioner? My truck seems to have no apparent issues- so I don't worry about it.

I believe kize is right about this one, I noticed when i have my music completely off if i turn on brights / air conditioning or anything electrical I hear a very soft clicking noise coming from the fuse panel near passenger floorboard. I was cleaning out my truck this week and i opened that thing up on accident and it was such a pain putting the cover back on. I was getting real frustrated...Probably because I am a little slow

I wouldnt worry if there isn't anything noticeably wrong with the truck.

Dunno if it helps you to feedback with me..

Since its nice weather outside...I had my wife to stand by fender outside to listen, either idle or rev up 1-2K RPM and the clicking is steady the same sounds and unchange..

Does it help to feedback whats it ?

I had this feeling its not Cam Phaser...since she has to get CLOSE to metal fender to listen it..

Thanks!

I want to be deaf too! Therefore I don't have to listen to all the strange noises my truck has to it

Yoman,

This sounds exactly like the problem I was having, they replaced the cam phaser and no more ticking.

Here is the link of my original post on this issue.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...r+AND+steering

I let the dealer know that there was a TSB pending on this clicking nosie. They oredered the parts and had it fixed in two days. This was two weeks ago, no clicking noise since then.

Hello again,

I talked to few people and they said it definintly sound like fuel injectors so i talked to my dealer that i TRUST THE MOST and i asked him to start up other F150 on parking lot and he said its the same sounds.

Even i went to local ford dealership with my wife and i asked one of saleman to start up the motor 5.4 and she listen to it while salesman stand and puzzled then said " what you are hear thats from fuel injectors noise which is normal...so i asked other truck to start up, same thing..Salesman seems very friendly..

The mechical person and salesman said that if its ticking a bit loud than fuel injectors then its cam phaser and theres TSB for it...even i DID NOT ask or anything about Cam Phaser TSB, i was a bit surprised they said it cuz its not usually.

So its normal...i checked other thread.. like this one https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...highlight=fuel

Thanks!

YOMAN!
