3" Body Lift on a 6" Suspension Lift

I have been thinking about putting a 3" Body Lift on my 6" Suspension Lift. I know there are a few guys out there with this setup. I have done body lifts on trucks in the past but never with a suspension lift. Do any of you experts have any opinions on this? I know ford supposedly redesigned the body mounts in the 04s, do they really make that big of a difference? Any info on this would be very helpful, thanks.

Here's a link to some pics of my truck.I have a 6" suspension lift,3" body lift and a leveling kit.The body lift was a pain to put on.They also cost more than the average truck.

Yeah I have talked with Skidz before and seen a couple here and there. I just wasnt sure what the general take was on this. Wandell I was very curious to your opinion of this since you are pretty good with lifts, tires, etc.
I like the 6" lift because it helps a lot offroad, but it doesnt look as tall to me now that I am used to it. Besides I dont like sitting level with the 250, I need to look down on it.

I have seen your truck over on FTW as well, and I think I emailed you a couple times asking you some questions about it. Basically the norm, any negative? total ride height? etc?

Hey, I havent posted that kind of info in ages. I think us lift guys are a dime a dozen now. When I first did it I remember I could count all the guys on f150online and FTW who had lifted 04s on one hand. Now guys are jackin em up way higher.
The lift cost me 1300, the labor was 600 the tires were 380 (H2 tires - do a search 315/70/17) the rims were 450 (ebay).

Now I am thinking body lift this summer, or dirt logic coilovers and new rear spring packs for 2-3 more inches.

Eddy...

Did you ever do the 3" lift? How does it look?

Where were you able to find your 6" suspension lift for only $1,300 for your 04 F-150? That's a killer deal.

I opted against the body lift for now since I dont want to put more stress on the truck with bigger tires, or rip off the body mounts on their now since the stock ones are supposedly all new and improved.
I have other things to do right now like look at getting my dual exhaust or the new warn semi hidden winch for my truck.
Besides, I wont gain anything but bigger tires with a body lift. Money spent better elsewhere.
I bought my suspension lift from 4wheelparts. I sat and waited 4 months till they gave free truck freight, and 10% off. Worth it though since I saved a good amount. Just dont rush and look for a deal.

Thanks Eddy....

Here is what I am planning on doing here pretty soon:

2.5" Levling kit
3" body lift
Pro Comp 17x9 Rims
Pro Comp X Terrain 35 x 12.50 x 17 or the Hummer take offs (350 x 70 x 17)

Later:
6" suspension lift

* I am going to do the above things before the suspension lift just to give me somthing to play with for a little while...a new look. This way, when I get the suspension lift, it will be an even newer look. It's a lot like when I do modifications to my Mustang. I always try to do them a little at a time so I am constantly having some fun with the performance changes, making it faster, more often...as long as each step won't hurt the car.

Sounds like a plan, may I suggest getting an add-a-leaf in there as well. I know its on my list.
Plus think about taking the leveling kit off with the suspension lift.
The hummer take-offs are the way to go. Cant beat that price for anything.
ProComp wheels are the same as American Racing, so look at both and get whichever is cheaper. Be aware that the polished aluminum wheels are a paint to keep 100% clean. They will look great from afar, but not have the finish of chrome up close. I know what you mean, one step at a time. I have this spreadsheet with every mod I have ever done, no matter how small and I keep it updated with prices and vendors, etc. Its the way to go. Once the exhaust is in and the winch is on I will be pretty much done with the truck and have over $6000 in custom mods.
