Yeah, the double wiper setup can not only be hell on the wiper motor, but make your truck look ghetto too!
I'll have you know that I think they look mega cool on a late 80's escort GT...

This is the ONLY blade I'll ever buy...

http://www.silblade.com/

In fact, I'll be ordering a set today for my wife's new Explorer. It's hard to beat a 5 YEAR UNCONDITIONAL warranty! And, when you get right down to it, they're cheaper than replacing every 6-8 months...

They are awesome!

There's plenty of talk about them on the boards here. Do a quick search for Silblade and you'll see a wealth of commentation.

OK I give up ! How do you get those damn OEM wipers off? I don't mean just the blades - the frame that holds the blades.

turn the whole wiper almost 180 so that the wiping blade is facing the sky... now slide towards drivers side of the truck.

The end of the wiper arm is hooked.

On the subjest of wipers, has anyone seen the wipers on the new Ford Five Hundred? I had one as a loaner when the Exploder was at the dealer for some warranty repairs. They are solid rubber with no actual arm...pretty weird.

It's NOT just you thumper.

The stock wipers are pitiful.

Question guys. When you order blades like the silblades, if you order replacements made for your truck, they want to sell you 20" blades. How do you order a different size than stock and know that they will fit your truck ?

Rockpick, did you order the stock 20" blades or did you get 22" blades ? (since they only come in even sizes)

Uhhh....

I'll have to go check. I just kept mine from my 2001 King Ranch that I traded and put the new stock ones from my 05 back on my old truck before the trade.

Stay tuned...

They're 22".

SEE THIS THREAD

While that thread pertains to the late model F-Series, like I mentioned in my last post, I removed mine from my old SCREW and kept them for this truck. Easy swap.
