2nd generation F-150?

How do I know which model of 2004 F-150 Screw I have? I have seen where people talk about which model they have by saying it was the first edition or second edition and so on....that may not be the exact wording but that is all I could gather. What is the difference and how can I tell?

there is a 2004 heritage. It's just leftovers of the old body style.

I think jrip16 is refering to the job 1 and job 2 build dates.

I am not sure when they switch over but if your truck was built mid year or later on that model year its a job 2.

Do a search in this forum for Job2, and you will find a number of threads discussing Job1/Job2.

Smile Gen I and Gen II SCrews and Lightnings

jrip16,

I think you may be talking about how folks refer to Gen I and Gen II Screws and Lightnings. There were some subtle differences in the first years of the SuperCrew. I think one was placement of the "oh $chit" handles (A-pillar vs. over the door) and another was "headrests vs. no headrests" on the backseat.

For the Lightnings, there were the early body styles (boxy 1993/4 thru 1996 = Gen I, 1997 thru ??? = Gen II) and I think the Lightning crowd is waiting on Gen III.

I may have some of the details mixed up, but check out the SuperCrew or Lightning forums to investigate these possibilities.
