Wood Grain..

Well Im getting my dash kit tomorrow and my head unit on Thursday but Im wondering if I can buy a wood grain sticker or something to match the factory Ford stuff to go around the outside of my head unit.

If not I might have to just buy a equalizer to take up the gap because the empty black plastic piece looks haggard..

That kit is just way overkill...plus wood doesnt look right with the black interior...I think I am going to swap out with carbon fiber or some other solutions...I just cant stand the wood in this truck.

go carbon

Is there anything more ugly than plastic wood? I would go carbon in a heartbeat, but I'm affraid that stick on stuff may fall off one day leaving a sticky mess all over my dash.
Is anyone glad they used this stuff? I really like the look of the carbon and am considering it.
No offense to you thumper.

I agree with the stick on stuff...can't imagine it would hold up.

"Is there anything more ugly than plastic wood?"

Maybe fake carbon.....

Just kidding....but hey can't let you stomp on the Lariats that way.

Wood Dash Kits

I have had wood dash kits on four vehicles with no real problems:

Past Rides:
1984 Ford E-150 Anaheim Custom Van 8 years
1992 Ford Explorer XLT 7 years

Current:
1999 F-150 SCab Flairside XLT 5.4 6 years
2004 F-150 Screw XLT 5.4 1 year

Buy real wood kits and install them properly and they will last.
