Best of luck with your new truck and don't hesitate to stop by on occasion. You've been a registered member here for quite some time. We'd hate to see you totally vanish.

My experence with nissan vehicles is the drivetrains are great . Interiors and trimmings are do not last. The little clips and springs and flimsy doors on stuff are just cheap.I also never had what I would call great service from their service departments. Now that they are teamed up with renault(french ) no way would I buy one even though the plant that makes them is just a few miles from my house. My neighbor across the street works there.

One question I do have about them is do they require the use of atleast 91 octane of the assembly line?

Its all about personal taste.

If you can look paste the horrendous resale value Nissan is notorious for, the premium fuel costs and that butt-ugly front end I'm sure its a decent truck.

Thanks for all the replies... the one thing I forgot to concede is that I too think the thing is pretty ugly.... or at least it will take some getting used to.... thanks again... I will let you all know how it's going after a few thousand miles... thanks to whomever commented about the rotors.... I will certainly keep an eye on them

there's nothing better than 87 octane for an engine designed and calibrated for it.

BTW: Have fun with your new truck. I'm sure you won't hesitate to come back to tell us if you ever have to pull an F150 out from being stuck.

More power to you, if thats the vehicle you wanted you should have bought it. Its your money to do with as you see fit. We all have different opinions on pretty much everything and thats what makes this world great. I went for a test drive in the Titan with a friend who was considering buying one. We both thought it was a good truck for their first time effort, but I didnt like the look and stayed the track for a Ford. While my friend thought it looked good but ended up buying a Toyota Tundra. So no flames from me, just a friendly enjoy your new ride.

Congrats on your new truck! My best friend owns a Titan Crew Cab. The only things i'll concede to the Titan over the Ford is their back seats in the Crew Cabs have better leg room and their 0-60 time being a bit better. I too can't get past the "Largemouth Bass" front end. In the end, you buy what you feel is best. In my opinion, Ford has been building these things longer than most; while Nissan has just jumped into the pool with their floaties on. Albeit, they have done a great job on a first truck, especially the powertrain.

He would come back to tell us if he pulled out a F-150 but I wish he would promise he'd come and tell us when a F-150 had to yank him out..

Good luck with the truck!

I don't think anyone could have looked harder at the Nissan Titan than I did. Since the new F-150 came out I started looking at and test driving them. Then when the Titan came out I looked at and drove them. Spent months reading the F-150 Forum and the Titan forum. In the period of about a year I probably test drove 10 Titans at 6 different dealers. I drove the F-150 about 10 times also. ( I also drove Expeditions and Armadas to name a few).

Anyway, my completely nonbiased but unprofessional opinion was the Ford seemed to be built better overall. Nissan has some good design components also, like a boxed frame. The number one reason I was considering buying a Titan was the power train. I would drive the two trucks back to back and the Nissan really was stronger and smoother in power delivery. The 5 speed seemed to be the main reason because the power numbers are pretty close. I also really wanted a built in Nav unit and the Nissan offers that and Ford does not. That said, the F-150 Super Crew just kept calling me back. The ride was more refined and one major issue to me was comfort. The seats in the Ford are way more comfortable, especially in the back seat. I plan to get a tuner soon so the power train should be on par not that you even notice it unless you drive one back to back. In my area a loaded F-150 is less money than a loaded Titan also. So I used that extra cash to buy a nice double din 6.5" LCD head unit with Nav. Could not be happier. Probably would have been happy with a Titan too but it's all about personal preference. (man that turned into a long post, sorry)
