Want to buy an 05 but...

I really want to buy an 05 STX reg cab 4x4 flareside in Dark Stone this Summer. What I want to know is, has ford taken care of the vibe problem on the 05's??? I know it's irritating to see all these posts about people worried about the vibe. But please bear with me, I just need to talk to someone about it. It's been a problem in my head ever since I started reading the 04-05 forums. And I don't know what to do. I keep thinking what if??? Ya know what I mean?? Sorry if this sounds crazy, it's just my conscience talking. I always liked Ford vehicles. And I can't see myself in anything else. I guess what I'm trying to say is I need some reassurance on making my next truck a F-150. Lol! I feel like I need to get therapy or something. Thanks for listening.

10,000 miles so far on my 05, and she's awesome. That's not to say that all 05's are vibration free, or that mine won't eventually vibrate, but so far so good.

But you have to ask yourself, is it worth it to take a gamble on it or not?

Peacemaker,

I have an '05 Lariat. Very smooth ride and no problems. I think alot of the 'bugs' have been worked out for the '05 model year. Another fellow on this forum got a buyback on his '04 Fx4 with vibration problems (PALongbow) and went with an '05. No problems with his truck either.

You should find the '05 truck you want, give it a good test drive and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and end up buying it.

get one....i thought my 04 had the vibe after a rear end replacement @ 11000 miles...but after balancing the tires shes perfect again....i think most of it was in my head just from reading this board..like someone already said its only a small % of trucks with the vibe....you figure if they sold 1 million 04s and lets say 30,000 of them had the vibe...thats 3%.....i wouldnt worry much about it......test drive one and if it feels good get it......

Oddest thing

I don't have a vibration problem with my 04 standard cab. There is something I have noticed though. It seems there is a direct connection between vibration problems and internet access. I live in the remote mountains. Most of the people around here actually use trucks as trucks, don't have many vibration problems and don't have time to go online often. The major problem they have had has been with tire balance. Maybe it's the power of suggestion. With my mother, everytime someone mentioned an illness, she either had it or was getting it.

I only have 1000 miles on my '05 so far, but no problems and I LOVE IT! I haven't heard of anyone with the '05 having vibe problems yet. Good luck!

Re: vibration

I experience vibration every morning and evening as I leave my house... but I also live on a rutted-out, dirt washboard road.

Peacemaker, you have to also take into consideration the fact that this forum is where people go when they're having problems. The large majority of owners are out on the roads, enjoying their vehicles. When they encounter a problem, they come here looking for an answer. When several people across the nation have similar problems, it SEEMS like it's everyone, but it's not. This is true of any vehicle forum. I used to visit the H1 forum, and you can't imagine all the bitching and complaining there, yet those folks are still shelling out $80K for a new truck!!!
Just last night I placed my order for an 05 KR Sure I plan to take it out for a test drive when it gets here, but I had no hesitation placing the order. Buy your truck and have a good time with it. Odds are greatly in your favor that you will

No problems, best truck I've ever owned or driven.

As others have told you, don't get hung up on the vibration thing. Look at all the things these trucks offer that the others don't.

Just bring it on a GOOD test drive and you'll know. I'll place $
that the odds are excellent you'll get a great truck. I might be
biased BUT these reg. cab flaresides ROCK!!!
