For what it's worth....I think RP does a great job....and he almost got me to spend $1000s more for those KR seats.

Someone putting me in the same class as Dzervit? Now I know I can die happy!

Anyways, about inbred:

I work very odd nighttime hours. I don't have a chance to do much 'socializing' with 'real' people. So, I hang out here all the time. I talk to folks on this board more than I do with my friends/family.

Yeah, sometimes I get a little set in my opinions. If I had no opinion either way on things, what good would I be? At that point, I'd might as well move to France...

Yeah, sometimes I get pretty sarcastic. This leads to problems with new folks who don't know me, or when I try to make an honest post and people think I'm being sarcastic. It's a character flaw I have. Some love it, some hate it.

Yeah, sometimes I wish folks could read darn near every post every day like I do and know how often something has been asked and answered before, or how low a specific product's/issue's complaint rate is. Unfortunately, everyone else (ok, maybe not Dz ) has a life. Once fishing and hunting get going again, you won't see much of me.

Yeah, sometimes I'm making too many 'silly' posts. This place would be boring without a little jocularity. Like I said before, I don't get out much...

Yeah, sometimes I'm just plain freaking wacko. Can't really explain that one.

I don't hold grudges, if I get into it with someone on a specific post, I'll be glad to help them out best I can next time I see their name. Anybody ever comes to PA, I'll be glad to buy the first round.

That's me in a nuthouse. er, I meant Nutshell...

P.S. Rockpick does a heckuva good job IMHO. He's got a tough job dealling with folks like me!

While I understand that everyone can have thier own opinions, I have to say that I have spent a great deal of time "surfing" the F150online forums, and have found RockPick (and the other moderators) to be fair and judicious in their duties.

The only posts I ever see them having any issues with are the ones that go over the line in their direct criticisms of individuals.

As far as posters like dzervit go, if you spend anytime here at all you will begin to get a "feel" for the individual personalities of the posters. dzervit is obviously one of those guys who is always giving someone a few humorous pokes. No harm is ever intended, and all are obviously in good nature, but some could be misinterpreted if taken out of context.

I'll step off my soapbox now!

RP

Actually, no, you don't do a bad job. Just was giving you my take on a few things.

Before I go on, let me address the other posts real quick.

When I wrote yesterday, I figured on seeing exactly the things you all are writing. A few agreed. Most did not. Just honestly though, I was hoping that RP would answer without tossing me, and he did. For that, he has earned my respect whether he cares for it or not.

RockPick,

First, let me apologize. I should have thought a little more before writing, as I'm not really that tactful. It appeared to me though that you were making an extreme example of EasterIsland, and I reacted without enough forethought.

While I stand behind my opinions, they were unduly criticizing. I do think this is a great site. Nuff said.

Now That Mach & RP Have Had A Group Hug....

1969 Mach, I agree with your original post.

In my years as an F150 online member, I have noted that the open discussion and expression of ideas have not always been the hallmark of thus forum.

In particular,

1. Those who post dissenting or controversial views are frequently subject to undue criticism and ridicule (i.e. troll) from some members.

2. Unless a junior member has "earned" their stripes, their opinions are often dismissed by particular senior members.

3. Certain individuals who believe that quantity posting is more important than quality have developed a minority following which encourages their often boorish contributions to this forum.

RP, I too recognize your excellent contributions to this forum and that is a challenging task in moderating....thank-you for the time and effort you put into it. Nevertheless, a manager can not afford to be perceived as playing favourites. Clearly some of us have that perception. As you have already acknowledged, please do work on consistency in enforcing expectations and appropriate conduct for all including those aforementioned "some", "particular", and "certain" members.
