Bed liner sprayed or not
Most people with spray on liners know that they scuff the paint before they spray the liner in so the liner will adhere.
A spray in liner is permanent so thats really non-issue.

It certainly looked tough and had a nice surface that wasn't gritty but still gave good traction unlike the smooth plastic that drop in liners are made of.
Anyone out there had any experience with the Full Metal Jacket spray in liners?
Thanks,

It was a little freaky to watch them scuff the hell out of the bed of my new truck but that line-x looks great back there.

A year or more ago, someone here did lab testing on Rhino and Line X samples. He does that kind of testing for a living. Line X came out on top on just about every category. You might be able to find it with a search.
I got Line X, and they pulled the bed bolts, and removed the panel on my tailgate and did that separately. Excellent job, very uniform coating. Gets a lot of compliments, and I don't have things sliding around in the bed.
Blood will come off with a hose....if that's an issue. Hmmmm, now that I think about it....there are a lot of feral pigs around here.

couple of thoughts
Bedliners are usually priced at $100 installed around my area. Quite a bit cheaper than a spray on.
If you are worried about stuff sliding around use the tie downs.
Bedliners do allow water underneath them. I drive in the rain and I suppose that some water hits the under side of the truck some times...
Bedliners on F150 are held down by the tie downs so there is little movement and even if the paint scuffed it doesn't rust because the movement of the bedliner would rub the rust right off.

I have Line X and love it. It's permanent and warrantied for life, for me that was worth the extra expense. Plus, I had a drop in once and I couldn't stand seeing what my bed looked like underneath. It was rubbed down to bare metal in places.
liner
As you can tell by the name, I am a bit partial. I own a Rhino dealership. Our main competiton is Line-X and they have a great product. We typically dont bash them, we just explain the differences. Line-X does have a harder surface and it is sprayed thinner. Rhino is thicker, specifically on the floor at the entry points and wheel wells. These areas get the most impact. Rhino is sprayed low temp, low pressure and this allows us to layer more coats to get the thickness in the desired areas. We are in the bed spraying while others spray outside the bed. Rhino does have more grip, also. Regarding fading, any liner in the sun over time will fade or oxidize. To treat this, Rhino has a product called Rhino-Shine that is designed to be applied with a brush and it make an old liner look brand new. We offer the first application free so that we keep our liners looking great. We get alot of repeat business. This product actually absorbs into the liner so it is not just a topcoat. Never use armour-all. Both are tough. If you drive a forklift into either, you could cause damage. Also note that NADA will typically raise the value of your truck a couple hundred bucks if sold.. Look at both products, feel good about the dealership, and you wont go wrong. Remember that 80% of the quality is installation. Sorry for the novel.
rhino issue
had a 99 pickup with Rhino. It faded slightly, but otherwise was good. Wife rubbed the passenger side of the bed up against the carport, creased the metal. So had to have the whole panel replaced. When I took the truck to Rhino for a re-spray of the bed rail, they were not able to match the light gray color, and refused to re-spray the whole bed to match the color. Insurance was only paying for the rail spray.
So now the truck has a light gray bedliner with one dark gray rail. Also had several chips/gouges repaired under the lifetime warranty that they just used gray rubbery (silicone?) on. Needless to say I was not happy. Did some research and found that Rhinoliner has a warranty only with the same original dealer franchise you purchased from, so if they go under you are screwed. And any warranty/repair issues you are basically stuck dealing with the original guy you bought it from. So check him out carefully.
My new 04 screw got a Line-X with a nationwide lifetime warranty. One vote for Line-X.

This is my 3rd Rhino liner. I love them and will definitely get another if/when I trade this truck in. I personally think that the bed mats and the drop-in suck and are worthless. The sprayed ons are the best, most durable, and protect the bed better than anything else would. Don't know anyone here that has a LineX, but I've heard that they are good too.
