Ford Mud Flaps

I went to the dealer today to have the Ford molded mud flaps installed. The back flaps look great but the front flaps have a gap between the mud flap and the lip. Looks like crap. The guy working on my truck told me that every mud flap he has installed on the new 2004-05 models has a gap and that they don't fit right. I did get the right mudflaps. We confirmed that twice before putting them on the truck. Any suggestions on getting the gap out???

Mine are like that. They sometimes push back in the wind (I guess) and rub the molding. I had to put a piece of rubber between the flap and the molding to keep it from rubbing.

Personally, I thought the front guards looked so bad that I yanked mine off and left the back ones. They just looked to long and guady looking for me. I like the high stance of these trucks in a 4x4 version, and all 4 flaps together just made the truck look lower or something. My father has an 01 SCEW which he had installed just the back flaps , and my neighbor has an 01 that he did the same thing on his truck...both 4x4s. I thought they both looked alright with just the rear's installed, so I yanked my front ones off and left the back one's on. The older model stock flaps look a little better in my opinion. I'm still debating on just removing them all together though.

I just snapped one of my front flaps going over a snowbank in a shopping mall. I had no choice, I got blocked in.

When the weather gets warmer up here, I am going to yank the front ones off as well.
