Thats no joke...this is the easiest mod ever...and its free. I mentioned in another post...cant wait to get my silblades in. Its 1:05am. I went to my garage at 1am, did the re-index thing...did a test wipe, BAM...done. I like how ford made the arms easy to remove - no tools needed, unless you dont want to remove the key with your hands!

That's fine. Mine does the same and haven't had any problems yet.Granted, it didn't rain yet.

Yes, I should have mentioned that I also did that first, swapped the arms. It helps a few cm but not near enough.
I think the engineers should have to drive these trucks in a snow storm at night before they finalize incidentials like this.
Its things like this, that will never sway me from loving this truck, however making stuff better is what its all about.
I read through here and I may missed it but did you leave the arms swapped or switch them back. Also did you have to do this to both sides or just the driver's side.

If you re-index the driver's side, there's no need to swap the arms...Kevin

thats correct, swapping the arms is not required and wont make much diff anyway. You will however want to reindex both arms to make them match up while in the park position..

Ok I am slow as dirt.

I just did this and just want to give you my take on it.

Works great, I don't think there is any size difference in the arms or the way they are built but it looked to me that to get to the same ending spot I had to put the driver's arm higher when re-indexing it. So I swapped out the arms. Could be I just wanted my son to quit spraying the wiper fluid while I was trying to do this.

He was a big help.

Lightbulb Here's an oldie!!

I figured, this hasn't been around in a long time, but was probably one of the most helpful, ridiculously easy mods I've done to my truck, and thought, hmmm maybe some new owners would be interested in this thread- so here it is, from 6 feet under.

Didn't realize there was a post about this. Should have done a search. Anyway, I thought it was crazy that the drivers side didn't wipe enough and the passenger side didn't go all the way down when off. So I swapped them and that was enough for me. Now it proper. Kind of screwy that they were backwards (or whatever) to begin with.

Now if I could just get a set of blades that will last. Brand new sets of the Perfect Fits on my truck and my wifes Solara and within a month there're spent. They're not cheap either.

Jon

When I got my truck home after I bought it I noticed the wipers looked odd. I ended up swapping them and they were perfect. Must of had a new wiper guy that day in Michigan.
