Smooth ride equals speeding!?!

Is it just me or does anyone else find themselves speeding by accident?
These trucks (04/05 FX4's 5.4L etc...) are so smooth I find myself going way over the speed limit and not realizing it.
More often than not I get on the on ramp, push go, merge, and holy smokes before I know it i'm doing 140kms/h (65-70mph?)
SWEET!

I know how you feel. When I cruise down the hwy 401 I usually do about 140k that seems to be the sweet spot for that engine. Every now and then I punch it to 160 and bring it down to 140k. Doing a 100k feels like your crawling!

Yes, I too have to muster every ounce of self-restraint in order to stay close to the speed limit.

...if I had the VIBE I wouldn't have this problem.

I'm in that boat for sure.... I find myself doing 85+ not even realizing it. Hence, my overall MPG seems to hover around 15...

the way it glides is awesome too.. smooth is an understatement.

i'm constantly forced to tap the brake to let it know it needs to slow up a little ' cuz it's just gliding up the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of me without even trying.... lol lol lol

Close, I'm luck to stay within 20mph of the speed limit.

I think I have a disease where I have to go fast on the highway! I have to remind myself I'm not Dale Jr. and this is not NASCAR. But man my truck runs so smooth on the highway. I know I'm going to get caught one of these days.

I was thinking this morning about posting a thread on this. It's even worse at city speeds (30mph)

Along the same lines as "smooth speed" do the computer programers (Diablo, Supertuner, etc...) change the downshift and upshift points?
I find around corners or just after pulling away from a light, if I step on it, it seems to upshift immediately to second or third gear and seems to lag a bit.
Anyone experience this?
