I hit one back when we began road testing the new trucks one night and it broke the grille and the mounting tab for headlamp, but not the lamp. As for the deer, someone at the plant got some deer jerky out of it. Happy Holidays from the Kansas City Assembly Plant. :santa:

Ouch! Right before Chrismas too

I see you're in Suffolk. I've traveled route 13 many late nights and had some close calls with deer. Hit one and killed it down in Gates NC. with my old beater truck. Banged the old bumper out with a heavy hammer and painted it flat black Almost good as new.

Good luck on the repairs, I had some minor damage repaired on my '05 F-150 at Beach Ford in Va. Beach and I cant tell anything ever happened to it. They did a great job

Man,

That is a sickening sight. My truck is almost identical to yours (less the deer damage) even down to the factory running boards. At least no one got hurt ! (or I'm sure you would have said so)
I hope after it is repaired, you wont even be able to tell it was ever damaged.

Best of luck,

Mike

P.S. Have you heard about the things you can put on your truck that makes a whistling noise that only the deer can hear and is suppose to scare them away from your truck ? I wonder if they work as there are a lot of deer where I live also.

Heck with the whistle, put on a reenforced bumper for the next one. Venision for dinner.
mmmm Bambi tonight, kids.

I am sorry about your loss. What a bummer. Why do bad things happen to good trucks?
Chris

I think deer are attracted to these F-150s. Several people here have reported hitting deer already, and each picture seems to get more gruesome than the last. Guys, stay away from any deer infested areas, they seem to be out to get us.

Just curious, did your airbag deploy? I can't tell by the picture. I'm guessing it should not have, but wanted to know for sure as I live in a heavy deer population area.

Thanks!

Maybe in 100 years these deer states will wise up and re-introduce wolves to these here parts.

Talking

We run a grill guard made by Workhorse its between 400 and 500 dollars. I have hit muledeer at 50 mph and no damage to the truck or the guard. Even if it messes up the guard you can replace it for allot cheaper and guicker than the bodywork to the truck. The deer whistlers cause the animal to spook and run and sometimes across the road in front of you or that has been my exsperience in using them. And the gill guard works good to push shopping carts out of the way at Wal Mart.

Hittin a deer is nothin. I owe the purchase of my 2004
F-150 Lariat to a wayward cow. Headin to Kesterson waterfowl
refuge at 3:30AM, at the end of a curved bridge this cow is walking across. Standing on the brake pedal going 60mph, hit it going about 30mph. Knocked the cow on it's back and it gets up
and walks off. My 1990 F-150's front end is demolished. We barely limped off the road. Only bird I bagged that day was a new 2004 F-150 Lariat. It was the best hunt day of the year, LOL.

Perfect time for a billet grill "upgrade" . Always look @ the bright side. Wifey cant complain about it now. Probably cheaper than replacing the original grill too

Are you sure he got away? Looks like you might have launched him into the woods based on the bend in that bumper!
