I guess they've found problems with dirt and debris in the throttle body from the intakes leaking like this.

Not being argumentative but, I have the Airaid intake and love it (yes even with the occasional 'light'). If properly installed, I do not see how it could leak - the mount points just forward of the intake are too rigid to allow relative movement. The entire tube is rigid mounted to the engine and flexes at the air cleaner connection through a large rubber seal that is band clamped into place.

As for the engine light, waiting for the new tube to arrive this week. Airaid says the '05 design fixes the light problem.

After being through 3 intakes (Airaid, AEM, K&N) I can see how the Airaid may allow foreign material in. It never seemed like you could get a good tight seal. The AEM was better, but I think K&N really has the best design with the throttle body adapter that is included in the kit.

I have an AIRRIADE and love it...absolutly no drone at all at cruising spped or even light exceleration. I got mine for about $150 used off Ebay...it was like brand new...so I got a hell of a deal on it. I doubt I would pay $300 for it though.

As for the issue of a possible leak around the TB....I don't think that is possible. If it were to leak there it would be down stream from the MAF and would certainly cause major lean issues and set off the SES light. That would be from a TINY leak....a leak big enough to let debris in would most likleyprevent the negine from running.

Does not droan at cruise speed. But its LOUD when you get on it. It does droan when I'm at about 1900 rpm, in overdirve, under a load like pulling my TT, and going up hill. But I just pop it outa OD and the rpm jumps up and no more droan. Seems it is worse when at 1900 rpm under load. I'm running 4.10 gears.

I've also noticed it was more of a problem when I first installed it and now its either not so noisy or I'm just getting used to it.
