2) Under what conditions in a throttle-by-wire, electronic spark timing vehicle like ours should the engine management system deliver a fuel/air change that does not ignite? Please highlight how the vehicle operator is responsible for making this occur.

The owner's manual does highlight the use of the O/D lockout button for situations which cause the engine management system to hunt between gears. That is NOT the situation described in this thread.

Waiting for a well reasoned answer.
My truck, under no circumstances that I’ve encountered in the past 17 months, has the problem shifting out of overdrive or unlocking the torque converter as you describe. I’ve never heard my engine ping either, under a load or just flooring it.

You have a problem with your truck, plain and simple. Take it to the dealer and let them fix it.

I can hold the pedal to the floor and still nothing, usually it takes me pumping the gas pedal 2-3 times before it will drop down a gear and take off

I have tried, but when they can't get it to do replicate the problem they won't/can't fix it. I hope it will either go away or get worse so that I can show them the problem.
