Locking fuel doors

I've had this on my Cobra for about 3 years now and would like to see one made for our trucks. The manufacturer does not make them but might reconsider if they have enough inquiries about our application. Comments?

makes sense. The higher the price of gas goes, the more gas theft there will be. By having large tanks, I think trucks are bigger targets than cars.

Thats some funny stuff!! I have never personally heard of that problem. My guess is he doesnt want someone to put stuff in his fuel tank... ie sugar.

I see what you mean. While theft is a valid issue, my main concern is random vandalism and aesthetics (ignore the pimpy examples in the gallery) being a close second.

Locking Gas Cap

Do they make a locking gas cap for the new F-150? I would think this would be the cheapest and easiest way to keep someone from stealing your gas or pouring a foreign substance into your tank.

I think the gas cap is a 'common' size and thus, just about all of them would work.

I kept my locking cap from my 2001 prior to me trading it in but, I haven't transferred it to my 05... yet.

They make it for the '97-'03 but not for the new bodystyle.

This is their reply...
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We are looking into this
application, but currently we have no fueldoors that will drop into the
5 3/8" OD of your stock quarterpanel opening. Check back with us in a
couple of months and see what we have.

Regards,
Drew

I'm hoping they would build one if they have enough of a demand. Send them a quick message HERE if you guys are interested.

gas theft is more common than you think.

if they only siphon off a gallon, you probably don't even know its missing.

I knew guys that never paid for their gas in 4 years of college.

i like the idea. how do you think it would look painted to match
the truck. and using the key might scatch the paint in time

P.S. DAThomas9 & Killer04FX4,

Porkchop,

I got the same reply. Guess we'll have to wait.

Thanks for your interest in Pro-Fit Linear Fueldoors. Ford changed the fueldoor diameter after 03 and we have not yet tooled up on the new size. So we currently do not have anything that would fit it. It's on our list of vehicles to do, but when we will get to it is anyone's guess.

Regards,
Drew
