Locking Gas Caps

Anyone have luck finding locking gas caps? Tried to order them at the dealer and they said they were not available.

wattman1,

I ordered one back in July 04. If you go to www.ford-trucks.com and do a search my log-on over there is 04SilverSCFX4, I posted the part #. It cost around $30.00 if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the lead blacklariatfx4.

"For those interested here it is:
FMC 4L3Z9K163AA, price was 29.58+tax."

Netwurker, thanks for the link, but I only want a locking gas cap, not the whole fuel door assembly; even though the dealer just replaced my door assembly.

Edit: Added P/N from post on another forum

Gas cap locks are needed more to keep people from putting stuff in your gas (sugar for example). Some cars (that I have heard) can't be siphoned. They have a screen of some sorts in the filler tube so you cannot put a hose into the tank. Be nice if our trucks had one of those!

Just contacted them recently and I was told that they were having problems trying to figure out how to mount the outer bezel.

Yeah they can even custom make one to match your wheels.

This what I have in mind...

...or even this.

One week to the day after I bought my new 05 Lariat, someone poured sugar water in the tank. Three weeks and 4,300 dollars later, I have it back.
I've ordered a locking door to prevent this from happening in the future. http://www.autoaccessory4u.com/bifudo04fof1.html
$67.95 for the polished chrome version would have been cheap insurance.
