What do you use your truck for?
After reading through this a bit, I'm pleased to announce that I'm not the only Home Depot/Lowes addicted person here...
My truck's purpose is a test vehicle for various polishes and waxes .... and also the HD/Lowes thing.

1 I use it for work, 50/50 city / highway driving.
2 Pulling a 22 foot 5th wheel trailer.
Best truck I've owned in 33 years of driving. No vibration, excellent quailty. Just a little thirsty though.
2004 F150 Lariat SC, 5.4 auto, 4X4, 3.73 axle, trailer pkg etc.etc.etc.

1. Commute to work
2. Trips to HD
3. Loan to all of my lame friends that their wives make them drive minivans.
4. Transporting dead deer to the butcher
5. Pulling shrubs
6. Scare bad drivers into submission
7. Escape from boring office
8. Listen to MY music

It used to be my daily driver, but now I just use it for pulling (31' travel trailer, car hauler, golf carts, tractor), long trips and dates. I bought a Ranger to keep the miles off of the Screw. I love my big truck, but I hate the 'running around' miles I have put on it. It is by far the best truck I have ever had. Here is it when I got back from Texas bringing home the Ranger.
The best pulling truck I have ever had.

Buy it
Drive it
Love it
I wouldn't buy an f150 if I didn't want to drive it all the time, buying a ranger to "keep the running around miles" off it doesn't make any sense to me.
Don't you wish you were driving your F150 every time you get in the ranger ?

I do agree about the driving around the city miles, I hate that. I bought this truck for long drives and I can stand driving the ranger around town.
My f-150 is for plesure. I bought it because my boss bought me a dk. shadow XL to drive at work. After putting about 10,000 miles on the company truck in a few months time I decided I really wanted one of my own.
Heres my blue on and my work truck dk. shadow one. The WT is a 4x2 4.6L XL but its still a nice truck.
As of today it had 19,XXX miles on it and I got it in april. Considering I dont drive it every day, thats alot.

They just don't get it, do they? That's ok, most of them have never driven a nice Ranger (NOT a 4 cyl. with worn out shocks). I kept my '94 Ranger when I bought my F150 a couple months ago and I'm still driving the Ranger about a third of the time. I've had to spend a bit of money to get my Lariat to ride nicer than my Ranger. Shocks to smooth the jittery ride and a tuner to fix the crappy stock shifting, tires are next. It's starting to ride like a Lariat is supposed to ride, but my Ranger is still just fine for work.

edit: And what do I use my truck for? It's my pimp ride! I'm a subcontractor and my Ranger is easier to work out of- 3 toolboxes and I can reach everything easily. I tried working out of the Lariat but I haven't got toolbox storage figured out yet. Gotta climb up in the bed to get anything out of the box and what I need is always on the bottom. So I'm usin' the Lariat for cruisin' and lookin' good.

For the daily commute, mostly. About 40 miles round trip five or six days a week. We've also got a flat bed utility trailer for whatever won't fit in the trunk, and I don't think the Grand Marquis will pull it too well.
