Next Step For F150

Hello guys, this is my first post and I figured the only way to get solid advice on a truck is to talk to other truck owners. I recently traded in a 95 explorer and bought a 2004 F150 Lariat. The dealership was ofering 12,000 off since it had been sitting in their lot for 8 months. It was an offer I couldnt resist. I love the truck its a F150 Lariat Supercab with the 5.4L v8 engine. Well Ill save you the details and get down to me first question. I have taken care of the outside of the truck getting a clear bra and leather treatment on the inside, I was wondering what you guys think the next best thing is to add to my truck. I was thinking perhaps dual exhaust, maybe something to give it a lil more power. Right now my truck is only getting 12 miles to the gallon, so hopefully any mods I do to it wont make it any worse than it already is. Give me any ideas that you think would possibly add to power or even something really cool that i should consider. Thanks for the help

~Dan

mods

I'm getting ready to mod mine out also. So far I've just put on a carbon fiber bug shield to match the F150 sticker on the top of the windshield. Next I want to add the following: step bars, Westin grill guard or Fabtech desert guard with lights, Access or Extang bed cover, Sirius Satellite radio (for sure). That's my Christmas list coming up soon. :santa:

What kind of leather treatment did you do? I have an FX4 with trimmed leather captains and need to do something. Who makes the clear bra and where did you get it? Does it help with bugs?

I'm gonna have to say either exhaust or check into a front end leveling kit, I just ordered mine. I dont know if thats really want your looking for but in my opinion its the coolest mod you could probably do for the least amount of money. Just do a search and you can tell.

Buy a tuner for it. It's the best $350 you could possibly spend. Predators and Superchips are the two most popular brands. It's the absolute most bang for the buck of any mod you can buy. Everything from engine timing to shifting to trouble code diagnostics to speedometer calibration, these lil buggers are great!

Milage will likely increase as it gets broke in. Mine got better after awhile.

And hey...I was just out in Littleton for work. Well, Highlands Ranch actually

If you don't have a bedliner yet I say go with line-x as your next mod, cosmetic and functional. The tuner is a good suggestion too, I'm considering pulling the trigger on one, but I think I need the Access cover more right now. Congrats on your new ride!

Custom wheels, bigger tires, 2.5 lift, spray in bedliner, and exhaust is what I did first. Next is a tuner and intake and then I'm regearing.

3M makes the clear bra btw.
