Remote start

I've read a couple threads about remote starts and checked with my local Ford dealer. Thay want to charge me about $530 to purchase and install the system in my 04 Scab. Seems high to me. Any thoughts?

That's more than double what you should pay for a top-notch remote start... tell them to stick it and find somebody else.

For the Ford Gold system that price is ok. Or you could buy the parts for about $250 and have Sandog53 install it for you.

I bought the Clifford RSX 3.5 (http://www.clifford.com/matrix/responder/default.asp) for $250 from Streamline Motoring (http://www.streamlinemotoring.com/in...l?v=1&pid=1181) and had a local installer put it in for $285 including labor, parts, and tax.

The features on this alarm/remote start blow away anything you'll get from Ford.
