Ford Gold alarm is a Ford part#?
Is the Ford alarm Gold package a real Ford branded part?
I know its made by someone else, but is it Ford badged?
I had the Gold alarm installed at my dealer, they put in an Audiovox remote/alarm/starter product. I know for a fact that this part can be bought for $80. The service said that this Audiovox part is the one covered by the 3 year warraty by Ford.
The keypad on the door is junk now, it only sets off the alarm, does not work in combo with the alarm.
My alarm has NO siren, it uses the horn, this is not right.
They cheaped out on the alarm install, didn't they?

No Audiovox does not make the Ford systems, so I dont know if the warranty would hold at any Ford dealer, just the one you bought it at. The Ford part number is 2W7Z-19G323-CA which is remote start/keyless/security. It is made by Code Systems. It is branded Ford and does have Ford stamped right on the module, as well as the box.
Hmm, thats not good. I'm going to the dealership to see why they installed this Audiovox model.
The work receipt says "Ford Gold alarm", when I called them they said they installed the Gold alarm.
They took away my original two three button remotes, and gave me these 2 four button audiovox remotes. I thought the original remotes are supposed to work with the gold system?

my bad, it is the aa. I always get them mixed up. Yeah if it says audiovox on the remote then you been had. The code does have a four button remote like the one in the pic, but they should not have kept the other remotes. And the Ford system will work with the keypad. I would ask them what is up with that.
Got it sorted out, they are removing the generic system and installing the Ford Gold. It was quite a fight though, they said 99.99% of people go with the generic no name alarm.

Here's a question, can you leave the a/c in the on position for the dog summer days and have a cool truck when you get in, or do you guys think that leaving the a/c in the on position is still bad for the new generation compressors at start up?
Also, how much was it including install?

I had the Ford gold installed on my rig and it's nice.I set the air for summer and the heat for winter. The key pad sets off the system now but thats ok,also I kept both org remotes that came with the truck, they still work for opening the doors but I don't have the remote start with them, so if my Gold remotes go out I can still get in my truck.I read on the new Gold remotes the key pad can be set up not to set off the alarm system,it was on one of the forms here that I saw it posted.

Does anyone know how to adjust the shock sensor on the gold alarm? Also is there anyway to change the amount of time that the truck stays started when it's running? I think mine will only stay on for like 10 mins then the engine shuts off, but the radio stays on
Also, if my windows are down, and the alarm is armed, I can reach in and unlock the door manually and open the door without the alarm going off, That can't be normal.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
mikebaby

If you do a forum search, you will see that I have posted a link 2-3 times to the tech PDF file for all of fords alarm/keyless/remotestart systems. It will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the features and how to program it yourself, since ford doesnt give you any info if they install it.

Forget this... it seems like everyone has some goofy installation problem with their "Gold" alarm. Starting to look more and more like a "Tin" alarm.
