Not to sound like a smart a$$ but the potential for the door edges to get damaged is in YOUR hands.
No offense taken. However, I have an 11 y/o daughter and 8 y/o son. When we park in the garage next to the wife's car or in a parking lot, the door and how far it might open doesn't always pop up into their minds even after Dad tells them to "Watch out for the doors..."

I would like to think it was that simple and it didn't happen if one was carefull all of the time but that is not realistic with children.

I don't like the looks of them but would rather them then chip marks on the edges.

Has anyone thought about having the clear bra trimmed down and placed there? Would that work????

Just a thought...

3M

Hi YellowFX4SCrew,
The jiffylube place I go to for oilchange has a clear 3M brand door edge trim they install for $14. It is the same product as the clear-bra is made out of only in a strip, and comes on a roll. Its virtually invisable after installation and tough as nails.
Im sure its avaliable other places too. IMO the colored dooredge protection detracts from the F150's smooth visual bodylines, especially the Supercrew.

cheers,
Sarge

Cool

Another vote here for the $3.00 ones at Autozone. I dont believe anyone other than a dooredgemoldingologist could tell the difference unless a person had a unhealthy attraction for the things. Then they would need to go see a psychodooredgemoldingologist. The ones at Autozone come in black or chrome.

FWIW I noticed one of mine had a scuff mark on it from doing its job and guess what ? ........Thats right, I spent another $3.00.

Just my $6.02 worth.

I tried ones you can get at AutoZone (clear) on my Tahoe. The first few weeks, they were practically invisible. But eventually I noticed a dirt/grim build up in them. I peeled the off, and was left with a dirty sticky residue left on the door edges. Took me a while to clean it up. I haven't bothered putting them on again, but I just noticed my 2005 KR has a chip on the door edge. Starting to make me rethink the edge guards now. Maybe the one's from Ford are better, but they sure are pricy.
