FYI - appears link to my gallery changed. Try this:
https://www.f150online.com/galleries...w.cfm?num=7389

Also, just ordered the HELM 2005 F-150 Wiring Diagram. Spent another $60 bucks for this book in an effort to get the power folding mirro to work. Should have the book in 7-10 days. I will figure out this mess since the Ford dealers are of no help. You would think the dealers would be helpful. I haven't filled out my survey form Ford but I will definitely give them an earful on the service departments attitude. I visited three ealers and all had the mentality that the informatuion in the shop manual is not meant for consumer - to that end I say go to hell!

I'll keep you posted . . ..

Thanks guy for all the input on this...why is Ford so crappy about stuff like this. They supposedly want after market mods (and go as far as to claim they put a cheap single axle in the new Mustang for this reason) and then they won't let us upgrade our trucks!

I have an '04 Lariat and there was no KR, and no folding mirror option...Ford - you owe me and you should not only let, but help, your dealers do upgrades like this.

While you are at it, add an option worth having for the rail system.

when I bought my truck the way the dealer explaned it I thought all I had to do was pop in the DVD player and I was good to go. well seems I dont have the DVD wireing pre-installed or something. Plus the thing is $1500! those rails look cool but are useless IMHO.

I decided that I was better off haveing my local shop install a 7" screen in each headrest, then mount the DVD under the seat with a PS2 to keep people from bothering me when I drive. I have delt with this shop before, they do quality work and are going to do it for far less then what ford wants for there unit. Might get it done when the holiday bills are gone.

Four wires, one has to be grd, dome, and 2 for the power fold option. Dome you can run from the kick it is a blk/blu. We need to find out if there is a relay on it or not. we also need to know if it takes a pulse or a constant power source to make the mirror fold. Tomorrow I will take a look at a KR and see if I can figure it out. Is there and easy way to pop the switch plate off to get to the switch. If we can figure that out then we can make these work. I want them too.

I have a 2005 F150 Wiring Diagram book on order with HelmInc.com. I just spent $60 so I am hoping that this book will have details regarding the power folding mirrors or I'll be BS. Hope to receive this in the next week.

These are the schematics from the Ford wiring diagram DVD. The first is an 04 power mirror setup, the second an 05 folding mirror. As you can see one has to add the power folding mirror module and new switch along with the required wiring. Hope this helps you guys.

Kinda small but you can copy them and enlarge/zoom or I can email them to you.

Those schematics are identical to the ones on www.tso.ford.com

Here's the difference.

2004-5 non power folding mirrors:
Starting at the CJB (fuse box) we have a 5a fuse. One wire runs from the CJB to the power mirror switch and then wires run directly to the mirrors themselves.

2005 power folding mirrors:
From the CJB there's an second 10a fuse for the folding mirrors and the second wire runs to the PFMM (Power Folding Mirror Module), the first wire still runs to the switch. Five wires come out of the PFMM. One is the supply voltage from the CJB, one wire goes to ground, two split off and run to each mirror, and the last one goes to the switch.

I can supply you with all the wire colors if you need them.

If you want to complete this install you will need the mirrors (obvious), the drivers door switch, and the power folding mirror module (PFMM). Plus you'd have to power the module w/ 12v and run the wires from the module to the switch and mirrors and from the switch to the mirrors.

FYI in a King Ranch the PFMM is behind the rear seat on the drivers side near the corner.

Bottom line. It's not as easy as we'd hoped.

It's kind of sad that this option isn't available on at least Lariats. I really don't like the King Ranch leather, but to each his own.

Question- you said "the PFMM is behind the rear seat on the drivers side near the corner" Can you be more specific? Is this behind a panel? Thanks

baja150 - see my email to you.

Bob - I figure if we can purchase a PFMM and place it in the engine compartment we should be able to run the wires to the mirrors and window switch with little effort. I'll wait for more specifics from baja150 but I hope this can be done. We will solve this problem and when we do I will be the first to document and post!

Guys, you dont need the module. I checked one out today. All the module consists of is some on board relays. You can buy a relay and make this work. All you need to do is pulse a grd when you hit the switch and the mirror will fold. It is alot easier than you are making it out to be. The five wires can be used on a std relay.

Hey BSM, the wire on the mirror that goes to the grey orange wire on the other side of the plug, of course it wont be there on the truck, but figure out which pin it is in on the wiring, run a wire to that and pulse it with grd and the mirror will fold. Let me know if you have any questions. If it does email me and we will try it with a relay and see if it will work.
