Tell them to cough up the dough, or you'll sue them in small claims court, as well as file a complaint with Ford and the BBB.

When I purchased my SCAB they told me to do the FMC deal for some extra $ off. They said after the third month I could pay it off. The salesman wasn't sure of the details and told me to call after the third payment. I call and the person at FMC said, "We at FMC do NOT penalize anyone for paying early, I do not know what your saleman/dealer told you."

Anyone know or heard about this? I figured the dealer got a kick back or something. The same joint that dented my door and slopped my truck up. I won't go back there!

Yep, my salesman told me I had to wait 90 days as well. I showed him. The very next day I refinanced with someone else. There is absolutely NO GROUNDS to force someone to wait until they refi. Once you've signed those papers and taken the ford financing rebate you are free to do as you please.

My salesman also told me to refi after 3 months. It's a good thing I read this forum or else I probably would have waited! I guess they get some sort of kickback if you keep the loan for 3 months minimum. Yet another thing that my salesman tried to screw me on...

Update. I got a call from the general sales manager this morning.

First, with regards to the 3 month wait on refinancing: Apparently the dealer is charged back the FMCC rebate if you refi before 90 days. If you wait 90 days, you're simply doing the dealer a favor.

Now with regards to my Tow and Go Rebate issue: He said that he made a mistake in telling Ford CS that they processed the rebate. Apparently he thought that my truck was an XLT, which apparently would have qualified it. He also noted that the Tow and Go rebate eligibility would have been noted on the window sticker. Finally, he gave me their "we're a President's Award dealership and we don't do that kind of thing" spew.

So, it sounds he made a mistake. Could he be lying? Maybe, but I think I'll just chalk this one up as a learning lesson. Thanks everyone for your input.

any dealer that tells you they were unaware of any rebates if full of BS!

They know exactly what is available so they can use it to make a sale... you know the entire reason there is a rebate.

According to a dealer/moderator on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum, the Tow and Go "rebate" is not actually a rebate. Here's his response:

"Tough one, because technically the Tow & Go is not a rebate. It's a vehicle discount, and it's SUPPOSED to be reflected in the price via the use of an additional window sticker that Ford provided all the dealers with. So, it's sort of like dealer cash, and the dealer can pretty much do whatever they want with it. If it was strictly a rebate issue, then I'd contact your state's attorney general, but I doubt if there's anything they can do with this one. Maybe someone else has some ideas here."

I was under the impression that the only way you got the discount or rebate if you will, was if the truck you bought was upgraded to the 5.4 and had the tow package. On the crew I looked at it was a discount of roughly 1000.00, but the FX4 I looked at came standard with the 5.4 so the discount wasn't available even with the tow pack.

My "Tow & Go" Rebate was listed as a discount of the window sticker when I purchased the Truck. I too received the $3500, $1000 for FMCC and an additional $500 for being in the military. A total rebate of $5,000. I also received the set of Craftsman Tools.

The craftsman tool set rocks. Funny thing tho, my salesman never mentioned it the entire time I was dealing with him. After I had signed the papers and was about to walk out the door, the finance guy or somebody mentioned something about the tools...I was like huh? He took me over and showed me the display. Glad I got them though.

IMO, the dealer is not obligated to give you anything. You signed the deal and you should be held to that deal. Oh wait! I just bought some cookies from Kroger and I forgot I had a coupon at home for $.50 off. Maybe I should go to Kroger and complain.

Its one thing for him not to get a rebate he was eligible for b/c he didn't think it applied, but its another for the freakin stealership to process that rebate and keep the money, thats just shady. Last time I bought motor oil I didn't give the $3 rebate to Kmart and let them send it in and get the money.
