Has anyone had a problem shifting out of Park?

I experienced this twice...VERY RARE, but its happened. When parking on a very slight angle (driveway or something similar) and once on flat land...I was unable to shift out of park. How strange is that?

For a second, I was ready to call a tow truck...instead, I started swaying the truck front to back left to right from inside (funny sight because there were several of us in the truck try to get some movement). While the truck was trying to sway or move, I was able to move the shifter out of Park???

It wasnt because my steering wheel was locked or anything...tried everything before shaking the damn truck....no luck.

Just checking to see if anyone has experienced this...

Only when there's a sexy woman in the parking lot
Can't say I've had that problem. My vibe issue is enough for me. Good luck. Maybe it's a simple issue in the shifter itself?

i dont think ive ever owned a vehicle that wasnt a bit stiff going into park on an incline. Alot of pressure with all that weight leaning back.

If you set your parking brake BEFORE you put it in park it takes most of the load off of the parking pawl in the trans, making it much easier to get out of park.

I just have to post that you have to have push the brake in to shift from Park. I know it sounds dumb, but I can remember being in elementary school when my mom couldn't get the new Volvo out of park...simple fix...press the brake. The Volvo dealership had a good laugh.

I mean no offense, and I am sure you had the brake pushed in, but in my '99 F-150 4x4 Off-Road, I DIDN'T have to push the brake in to shift from Park. That was maybe the hardest thing to get used to between my '99 and my '04.

Untrue...

With these starters nowadays, it makes no sound...take it from someone who has tried it 12 or 15 times...

If it is a center console shifter the manual says to replace the fuse if you have trouble getting out of park.

Yes it has happened in just about every vehicle i have owned. It happens on a steep incline, or you might not be fully stopped when the park engages, etc. etc.

Thats all user error.

as with the above, only trouble is when not depressing the brake enough and a tight shift because of the incline.
