Okay guys, let's focus on helping him out with the Gibson question please...

I'm going to change the name of the thread in an effort to summond help. Also, I'm removing the posts which don't pertain to Gibson (including mine) which are useless to him.

I have the Gibson SS Swept Side exhaust. What I was looking for was a system that was very "family friendly". And that's exactly what the Gibson is. Inside the cab, there is only a very slight increase in sound. On the outside, while certainly not 'loud', it does have a nice V8 rumble to it. No drone at all

All in all, I am exceptionally happy with it. If you're looking for a mellow sound with increase power & MPG, then the Gibson is a good choice. If you're looking for loud & aggresive sound, then look elsewhere.

If I recall correctly, I believe it cost me about $425. I got it from my local 4 Wheel Parts store.

Gibson Exhaust
I agree totally with bamorris2. Nice tone inside, v8 rumble outside, but-- if you like loud look elswhere. I got mine thru J.C. Whitney. There was a 15% off coupon on my catalog and if my purchase was over 100 dollars, shipping was free. So I made out with a deal at about $365. The Monro Muffler boys installed it for $50. Hoss

My Gibson Exhaust

Hey marcrew, Check out my truck to see some pics on the Gibson dual set up. The sound is just a little louder than stock but really you don't hear it until you get on it a little. No drone at all even when pulling a trailer. With the single Swept Side there is no clearence problem but with the dual as you can see from my pics it gets a little tight next to the spare. If you need more info send me a msg. Jeff. p.s. what part of El Paso are you from? I'm from the east side and went to Burges HS. got out in 83

I just put on the SS Swept side. Personaly, I can tell no difference inside the cab. And, its pretty hard to hear on the outside too! I know I was looking for an exhaust that sounded nice but not too loud, but this really isnt loud enough for me. Installation was easy too...once I figured out which way was 9 oclock.

bamorris2: How close is your exhaust pipe from your spare tire? And, in the instructions, it says the small pipe behind the cat converter should be at the 9 oclock position and the outlet of the exhaust should be at the 12. With the hangers on the exhaust pipe I found this to be impossible. OR, should I go back and try to put it the way it should go? Thnx.

Good Luck Marcrew, RV
