What size autospring?

I know, I know.... I have seen people debate the quoted size of lift versus actual lift before. So I appoligize in advance for the question.....

My truck is 3 inches higher in the back. I assume a 2.5 inch kit would be just about level for me. But I was reading another post a while ago that said the 2 inch kit netted them almost 2.5 inches of lift. I dont want to get a 2.5inch kit and then it raise the front higher than the back.

Would you suggest go with the 2 inch kit to be safe or would the 2.5 inch kit really only raise it 2.5 (which is what I would think it would do....)

Sorry for the question...

get the 2". My 2 cents. You don't want the truck to sit 'exactly' level, unless you never haul anything. In that case, trade it in on a car....

I disagree, get the 2.5 inch, you won't regret it. My truck has it and i is only about .5 inches higher in back so it looks perfectly level. How often do you haul something that you need the truck higher in back. Your truck bed is more often not hauling anything heavy than it is, so the once in a while that it does, won't matter.

If you like it low in the front then get a car.

The 2" works great on my 2wd, I really can't see a rake anymore, and I don't measure! I have read in other threads that the 21/2" is right for a 4wd?

Another for the 2" , which actually gave me 2 and 3/8 inches of lift.
Although it's still a bit lower than the rear it looks level.

pictures and other useful info in this tread 2" lift

Thanks for the replies guys....

Anybody out there with the 2.5 kit measure before and after...???

I have seen threads with numbers for the 2 inch kit but not the 2.5... Unless I missed them in the search.

Yes, I was 3.25 inches higher in back before the autosprings. The 2.5 incher actually gave me 2.7 inch lift and the back is consequently about .5 inch higher which looks level. I think the issue here is how high is your truck. Some appear taller than others, mine was one of those. Measure yours and see which kit is best. The 2 inch is said to give about 2.2 inches and the 2.5 inch gives a little over 2.5 inches, more like 2.6-2.7 I think.

Whichever you go with, the truck will look great.

Me personally, 2-3 times a week. Nothing looks worse than a truck driving down the road nose high. If a truck is perfectly level, a person sitting on the tailgate will make it sag. But that's just my opinion...I lug stuff around and tow a boat. That's why I bought a truck. I need a truck for functionality first, looks second. If your needs are the opposite, by all means go higher.

Like I said in my first post... My truck is right at 3 inches higher in back than front.

So it sounds like to get it almost level I need the 2.5... Thanks for the input.

Get the 2.5" Daystar. It's the only size they make. And it makes your truck dead-nuts level. Done.

Autospring’s the way to go. The 2” kit actually measures 1 5/8” and it gives you 2 ¼” of lift.

Just my .02 cents

I didn't want my truck dead on level just close. I tow a jet skis and a friends boat every now and then. So I went with the 1 5/8" Autospring and will be installing it tomorrow.

I just didn't want my rear end lower, I know it will be if I have a really heavy load.

True, I don't see myself using the bed but a handfull of times in the summer for house chores, so it's not my business at all. In your case, I agree. Stick with auto springs, it will last forever, since it is all steel, like the parts it's sandwiched inbetween
