ANY BODY GOT A ROUGH IDLE IN THERE 4.6 IT SEEMS TO be getting more noticable got about 4800 miles if i pick the idle up a bit it smoothes out.

 

My 4.6 Screw has 34,000 miles and from time to time displays the rough idle. Has killed itself a couple of times.
I dont know what it is but it doesnt seem to be a big problem.
I get between 14mpg & 20mpg depending on how hard I push. All flat roads in Florida.
Still a great work truck.

 

My 4.6 has a rough idle as well. I took it in but they said it is functioning normal and nothing is faulty!? It runs good but idles quite rough. Oh well if it ain't broke I ain't going to fix it!

 

There's been a problem with low idling and stalling; don't know if it is engine specific (5.4 vs. 4.6). Mine purrs like a kitten, so I didn't pay too much attention to the posts...Insisting on a pcm reflash should fix the problem if I remember correctly. Search the 2004-2005 form for 'stalling' and you should get tons of info. Good luck.
