35/12.5/17 on 17x8 with Daystar Only

Here goes it. I've got a 2004 Fx4 with the Daystar kit installed. (installed it myself)

I just purchased Ultra 17x8 6 shooters with Les Schwab (made by cooper) Mud Terrain SXT 35/12.5/17's.

I had to do a little trimming so they wouldn't rub. This first pic is where I trimmed. Let me know what you think.

What I am not sure about is how that truck can look lower in the front on an incline. How high is that levelling kit? It doesn't look like it went up even 2 inches, more like 1.5 inches. Consequently the front tire looks very close to the fender unlike some other trucks we have seen. My truck looks higher in the front on an incline, which makes sense of a levelled truck.

Maybe with a taller levelling kit, no modifications would have been necessary. Still looks good IMO.

Rims look very nice, like the aggressive tread on the tires. I think the truck looks sharp.

I installed the Daystar kit which should be 2 inches. Maybe I can crank the torsion bars some to gain some more height?

Unfortunately they do not make them for 18's.

No torsion bars on these babies, so no, you won't be able to do that. Call daystar and ask them what size kit they gave you. They may have different sizes. Also, it might be that those tires are bigger than advertized, which may add to the oversize look. Just some thoughts.

Well I'm not to worried about it because I'm doing some website programming work for
http://www.wfoconcepts.com/ and in exchange, they are going to put a custom lift on for me. I really hated the stock tires and rims that came with it but I didn't want to wait till they do the lift to get new tires and rims. In another month or so the truck will be lifted and it'll look just right.

Do you think if I purchased some new shocks or the dirt logic coil overs it would help? I can still put the TOP portion of the daystar on.

Rocky Mountain Suspension says with just the coil overs alone you can put 33"s.

I think that you are in the same boat as many. there just in't that many options right now. I think that in another 6 months we will have a lot of options for these trucks. So it may be best to wait. that is what I am going to do for now. I have my autosprings levelling kit up front and I am happy for now. When I go to replace the shocks next spring, I will possibly lift it again. and get new rubber.

Besides, I really want bilstein 5100's on my truck front and back.
