Ford nerf bar questions...

I think I am going to get the nerf bars offered by my Ford dealer. I can get them at employee cost so they are the same price as other bars I have been looking at.

The accessories catalog mentions a 4inch or 5inch chrome oval tube model.

My friend has a F350 dually 2wheel drive and has what appears to be the 4 inch model but I dont know how to measure them..

Anyone know which look best on your trucks...????

And would you go for the Ford bars over Westin??? Ford is aluminum tube whereas the Westins are Stainless I believe.

Gimme your opinions and pics if you got them,.,,,

Go for the 5 inch bars. I believe they're measured on the actual step. At least that's how mine are measured. I am very happy with my steps, MAAP Challenger, click below to see.

I have the Ford 5" black bars and they are excellent. There is more space to get your foot on there without turning your foot to the side. It makes it much easier for the crumb snatchers to crawl in and out of my FX4 SCrew.

Thanks for the responses...

wattman, thats exactly what I wanted to see. Guess I will call Ford Monday morning to get them coming. Same day delivery and no drill install sounds great! At least I will have them on before the holiday.

Thanks again.

ToddG - you won't regret it. These were not the bars I originally wanted. I was trying to get the dealer to put the stock bars (which are ~4" and flat) on, but when they showed me a set of the 5" tubulars, I was sold.

I have the black ones, so I am not sure about the chrome ones. Either way, they should be plenty wide and I think they look good on the truck.

Ford brand for me too. I don't ever use them...my ol' lady does, and so does my mom.

Mine are flat black though...I didn't care for the chrome.

To each his own.
