Lower the rear or lift the front?

I recently purchased a 2004 Supercrew 4 x 4 with the trailer towing package. Since I just sold my Cobra and other race toys I will not be pulling anything larger or heavier than my 17' Bass boat.
I definately want to level out the SCrew as the rear end being much higher than the front is not to my liking. My question is this, should I get a set of lowering shackles and drop the rear, or spend additional $$$ and lift the front. I am leaning toward lowering the rear end as this is what I did with my 2001 SCrew to level it out. Larger tires and wheels are not in my plans. Any suggestions? Anyone gone this route?

If all you are doing is towing your bass boat then you can "lower" it, But if you have to haul something you my want to stiffen it up and go up with it.

I just read about the Auto Spring kit that is available to lift the front. Sounds interesting...

since its a 4x4 I vote for lifting the front a couple inches. I like the up high ride.

however, if you are set on lowering it, perhaps you could just remove the two inch block that Ford installs on the rear axle of 4 wheel drives. That would drop you exactly two inches.

its all about what you like, its your rig.

I would say LIFT IT! It's cheap and easy to add the Autospring as I just did on my STX.

Most importantly, lift it cause chic's totally dig it!!!!!!!!!

Deja Vu!

A couple of people have already been here and done this.

Lift Front or Lower Rear

Lift or Lower? That is the question
