truck revamp plans...
I'm trying to plan on my truck's revamp in 1-2 years. Cost will be a definate issue. For those that don't know me, my current truck is this:
04 f150 STX 4x4
4.6 v8
3.55 rear end (8.8")
Reg Cab 6.5 box with Leer Cap
regularly tow 1200# boat
FLowmaster 50 series dual output exhaust
Superchips 1714 Tuner
AirForce One intake
What I'm envisioning:
Autospring 2" level kit. Perhaps with a 1" block in rear if Tail sags when loaded/towing
Retain Stock wheels (17x7.5)
285x 70-17 or 33x12.5 (Mickeys are rated for down to a 7" rim)
Gear swap to 4.10's. according to calculators, the 4.10's will give me a moderate performance boost, even with the larger tires.
Really want to keep the stock rims if possible, but don't want rubbing on hard over.
Don't want to spend more than 2K, including tires. Gears will make up a big chunk of that. I refuse to up the tires without the gears to go with it, so passing on them is out of the question.
would like to do a brake upgrade down the road as well, but won't be able to swing it with everything else I want to do first.
Tires and level for slight clearance improvement, but mainly cosmetic, so don't try to sell me a full suspension...
Now several more years down the road, I'm already working on plans for the engine and tranny rebuild...
Opinions, thoughts, flames, etc.?
