Grills and bug shields...
Hey guys, I'm thinking about adding a new grill and bug sheild to my 04 but I've got a couple of questions for those who have already done this...How do the bolt over grills look up close? Do they look cheap? And how do the bug shields attach to these new hoods? Do they have to be taped on across the middle of the hood?
Thanks!
Bruce
Thanks!

re: bug shields - i have the ford hi pro. fairly easy install with provided clips, screws, etc.
you remove (or loosen the grill, snap on the shield, then re-attach the grill to seat the shield.... best feature of ford bug shields: a nice, silver f150 logo....
see my gallery for more info. i think i put a link to the moss online catalog that has a neat animated comparison between the ford hi/lo pro bug guards...

I have the low profile Ford bugshield. It just sandwicjes between grille and hood, with a 2 clips that clamps on the hood for the "wings". As for the bolt over billet grilles, I have a Carriage Works 6 piece for the FX4 grille. You really can't tell it's a bolt over until you look real close and see the bolts between the bars. Definitely not cheap looking.
A good boltover doesn't look cheap, in fact I've seen alot of good looking ones, but to me the cutout gives the absolute cleanest look. Little bit more complicated to install, but to me worth it in the end. Just my $0.02. (Hell, I don't even own an 04-05; what am I doing here?)
