New 04 owner

A couple of weeks ago I bought a used 04 F-150 Lariat extended cab 4X4. It had 12,000 miles, but I think I got a good deal. I found this board soon after I bought my truck. I guess I am very thankful that I don't have any of the vibration problems. I can't believe how nice the ride is in these. I did fill up with gas last night and had the fuel gauge issue. It still flashed the low fuel level and the gauge only reads a little under a quarter of a tank. Is this a problem that people have had dealers look at? Or is it not a big issue? Also I don't really like the outside temperature read out. I am used to my 96 Eddie Bauer Bronco that show the right temperature the minute I start the truck. Is this something I should have the dealer look at? And last, but not least. What brake pads is everyone using so that the brake dust isn't so bad. I can't believe how bad my wheels look already.

Welcome Mach1.

Don't let the "vibration" thing worry you. It is a very, very small percentage of trucks that "have it".

I talk to every single owner of an '04 that I see on the street and I have yet to have anybody say they have vibration problems.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist, or what it might or might not be, just saying that if you add up the members on this forum, the percentage that have "the problem" are very small.

The only reason it is so long is because i keep getting requests about all the stuff on the truck. I am trying to be helpful, if it that much of a problem than give me your email address and i will forward all the email and questions to you. Since i have done it, i havent had a single request or complaint except from you. As well i tried to put all the info on my gallery page, but it wont allow me to have that much info in one spot.

Thanks for the advice on the gas gauge. I bet I did over fill it this the last time. I've noticed every time I start it the gauge moves up a little more. This site is as addicting as the mustang sites I'm on. You guys have lots of usefull knowledge on these trucks.
