Exhaust

New to forum I have had my 04 Lariat since Sept. Bought used w/2000 miles. I have installed a sn/do Magnaflow 18- body(12258?) on 5.4L 3v engine with SStips. I am little unhappy with sound. a little cabin sound at 1.8-2.0k Quite at cruse. You can't hear at idle. I had 92 350 with dual exhaust from cat w/monza tips w/resonators. Is the 5.4 engine quite by nature? Looking at replacing Magnaflow with Flowmaster. I didn't choose Flowmaster 8yr.ago when i installed the monza's 350's were loud.

any ideas? thanks

According to my local exhust shop, Magnaflow = quiet
Flowmaster = loud
Mollowtone = middle of the two

I have a 2004 V8 5.4 supercrew. I installed the Magna flow 12158 (5x8-14") si/do a month ago. The cabin noise drove me crazy. A week ago I had the 12158 taken off. I was toying with either the 12258 (5x8-18") or the 12588 (5x11-22"). Magnaflow suggested that I us the new 5x11. Boy were they right, I love the sound of the 5x11 and NO CABIN NOISE. Best choice I ever made.
Good Luck,
