Cannot to save my life get the rear seat out of my Super Cab. Help!
Alright, 3 times now I've tried unsucessfully to get the rear seat in my 04 Super Cab out to do some audio. Now I consider myself fairly mechanically inclined but DAMN! I've seen the instructions and pics about the little plastic latches behind the seat, Removed the seatbelt cover thingy and unbuckled the mini-buckle. I cannot undo those plastic latches behind the seat. I've tried using the screwdriver to reach up in there but nothing but a sore hand and lost patience.
I also tried removing the bottom portion just to give me more room to get my hand in there. I remove the torx bolts on each side (3 on each side right? ) but cannot get the split to come apart in the middle. What am i missing?

Keep at it......I just did mine recently, Took me about an hour. I can't really offer much advice, I just kept poking around back there, when I was about to give up....Bam I got it. Once you finally get it out, make sure you zip tie the latches so you don't have to play the screwdriver game if you need to get back there. And you will if you are puttin' amps back there.
Good luck,
Jim

After you get it out the first time and can see how it works, it will be cake all the subsequent times. I used a shorter screwdriver, get it up in there and flip up the bottom part of the seat so I can get the angle right. Feel the tube, feel the vertical bracket in the tube....insert screwdriver vertically above this bracket and stab. Then wiggle the seat down and up. Make sure the first side doesn't re-clip when you are working on the 2nd side.
You'll get it. Took me 2 different tries

I'm able to squeeze my arm in-between the side trim and the side of the seat, then turn my thumb toward the front of the truck and barely grab the tab and push back.(I use about 50 cuss words in the process to help me out)
I'm a small guy so this might not help you out one bit.
Oh if you get one side unlatched stick something under the seat or it might relatch when you go to the other side.(a hundred cuss words comes in handy when that happens)
A thin stiff piece of steel made with a slight bend (like a fork works great)
yes it was quite dificult when I had to figure it out too. someone should call ford and bitch them out for makeing it so dificult. the best advise I can think of is to poke around and push pretty hard it didn't work for me till I pushed pretty hard and pushed down and up on the back of the seat at the same time. I don't know why ford couldn't have made it a little easier. the good news is it will be next to imposible for a thief to get back there to try to steal that amp.
