Glad you like it!!

My suggest....to add silverstar fog light 9005st, my opinion, its best combo XV headlight and fog sliverstar .

Since almost 1 half month, my fog silverstar 9005st didnt burn or anything, i kept checking it and its fine like new . I always turn fog lights w/ headlights on during at nights.

I paid $50ish included tax from Pepboy.

You will need file to grind the tab or clip some plastic off, once you bought it and unplug stock out and u ll know what i m talking about...

Please report back and i m sure you ll be so glad with this combo.

Well, I got home and tried to install but no luck. I came up to the computer and fortunately I saw your post.

I had to take off just a small piece on one of the retaining ears and it fit like a glove.
Now we wait till dark and see how good they work

BTW, I paid 39.99 + tax at Pep Boys for them. I wanted to buy the 3157 silverstar turn signal bulbs but I will hold off a couple weeks. With the headlamp bulbs, fog bulbs and also getting my windows tinted, it was an expensive weekend for the truck.

Much obliged for the help!!!

What a combo!!! I like how the fog lights have gotten a wider and brighter look to them in tandem with the XV's. Going through my neighborhood, on low beam(fogs on) it lights up the houses on both sides. It will give more reaction time if something darts out in front of me.

Then the XV's on high beam by themselves are a beautiful thing too!!! Down the road vision is greatly improved.

Thanks for the recco!!

If you are running the 9005 bulbs for your fog lights I suggest you keep an eye on the fog light wire. The stock bulb is 42 watts and the 9005 is 60 watts. The extra heat may not hurt the housing but running extra power through a wire designed for 42 watts may cause it to overheat.

Not sure I would want to take the chance of melting the wires down.

Does anyone have any idea whether the wires to the fog lights are the same guage as the wires to the headlights?

9005's will cause NO ill effects on the wiring harness. I have had mine in for 6500 miles now and have the fogs on everytime the headlamps are on. We may be cheap in some peoples minds, but the wiring is heavy enough to handle the 65 watts.....

Thanks for the concern.
I had that in mind and for the first week or so, I kept an eye on it, or I should say my hand on it. I would feel the wiring harness and see if it was hot to the touch, it was not.

I emailed Sylvania several months ago, and they told me that the Silverstars would not be released in the 9008/H13 due to the DOT not allowing ANY coatings to be put on that particular bulb. We will not ever be able to get a "blue" or "whiter" bulb than the original halogen bulb...unless some foreigner on ebay starts selling them from outside the US. They suggested that I buy the Extravision (XV) bulbs as replacements. I guess that I will buy the XV bulbs when my stock originals burn out, but I see absolutely no reason to install the XV bulb that looks just the same as the original. BTW...I have no problems seeing at night at all while driving at night.

John

Just my $.02...
