2005 issue??

Just something to be aware of if you're thinking of a '05 F150 with the 6cd changer/MP3 player. In all other respects, I love this truck so far.

Well, "late availabilty" and freaking out and ceasing to work at all when an MP3 is put in (and CD's subsequent to that) are sort of separate issues, not?

What, did you think I actually read the whole post?! I'm in my 'flame first, read later' mode this evening...

Unwarranted flame aside, in talking with the other gentleman with this problem, I found that the problem seems to be with switching media.

His first player played MP3s fine...until he put in the first regular CD. Then it wouldn't play anything anymore. His second was just the reverse...it played CDs fine until he put in a MP3 CD. Then the infamous "bad disc" error message, and no further play at all. Just like mine.

Perhaps they didn't get the bugs out of this one.

Maybe resetting the Deck by say... disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will atleast get it back to normal?!

Make sure your burned CDs, filled with your MP3's, are finalized at burn time.

I had this problem with a Mach-MP3 stereo in an '03 Ranger.

Yes that's right make sure your disc's have been closed when you finish burning them. Otherwise the player can't lock on to the info it needs to read.
