Unhappy Back from the install shop and my subs. did not fit under the seat...

I have to buy new subs....they are too high....

I was able to stick 2 monster amps behind the back seat but that was it...I have to shop for subs now , we spent 9 hours working on the truck today , Remote starter , new head unit , window tint , all new wires ( cables ) but not for the doors yet and I kept my factory speakers in the door for now , I have 2 pair of diamon audio M3 with cross over but I will wait to see how goos the factory one will work with my kit , so I will need to see some set up for the subs on a 04+ supercab.

Here's the mess we did today....

How did you mount the amp behind the seat? I'm going to have to move mine there if i ever plan on getting subwoofers. Did you attach it to the mettle or to the seat itself? Do you have any pics of that part of the install?

I forgot to take pics of it but he just screwed a piece of 3/8 plywood behind the seat and screwed the 2 amps in there .

They are like this one , 2 like that ..

Headunit looks great! Are you going to rewire the front speakers?

Would rewireing the stock Audiophile speakers give better clarity and volume? Is it possible to re-amp them?

I have 2 amps !

One for the 4 OEM Ford door speakers so yes they are amped and I have another one for the subs that I don't have yet .

( written on the amps ) 600 Watts for the front ( I know it's too much but I had the amps already ) and 800 Watts for the subs.

I did not rewired the door speakers but I may if I change them , I did not get a chance to drive the truck around to enjoy my new audio set up yet .

So you took the back of the seat out....mounted the amps...then put the seat back in and it fit fine? Does anybody know if that can be done with the back seat of a Super Crew???

Pics and a little more detail would be greatly appreciated!

Does anybody sell a head unit that is the same size as the stock one in the F-150? I'd love to get an upgraded head unit, but I can't stand the big gap this is left when you do.

Also are you able to continue using your steering wheel audio controls as well as the dim feature at night?

Thanks to those in the "know."

Sorry to hear about the subs mpcv2000.

I have a pic of 2 Fosgate amps mounted behind my back seat in my gallery. The seatback goes right back into place. There isn't a whole lot of clearance back there. You would probably be pushing it if your amp is more than 3" tall. I have a pdf file that documents how to remove the seatback if you are interested. For a double din sized head unit that will fill in the entire opening, there are a few options. You can chek out this kenwood, or this eclipse avn-2454 for starters. One of my co-workers has the eclipse installed in his suburban and it is a really nice unit. For the steering wheel controls, you will have to get the PAC SWI X unit and your aftermarket head unit has to be capable of receiving IR signals. Hope this info helps.

Since you have the amp and that nice HU, you really need to replace those stock door speakers. It will make all the diff. in the world.
Looking good. Get pictures up of you sub box in place and let us know what you end up going with.
