The Eclipse unit will eun you right around $2200 because of the navigation feature. I will get the pdf out to those who asked for it tonight because it is stored on my machine at home. To remove the backseat, you basically have to push in 2 clips that are located behind the seatback. Once those clips are released, you can lift the seatback right off.

Chris (Jellytheory), I never worked for earthlink. I used to have an account with them though

Does anybody sell a head unit that is the same size as the stock one in the F-150? I'd love to get an upgraded head unit, but I can't stand the big gap this is left when you do. Also are you able to continue using your steering wheel audio controls as well as the dim feature at night?

Bueller? Anyone?

All right, I have turned the pdf into jpeg files. Below, please find the first 2 pages of instructions for the rear seat removal. I will post the other 2 pages after. For some reason, I am being told that I have included too many images in my post with all 4 pages.

Initially, I tried to follow these instructions and was kind of lost. Here is the gist of what you have to do:

Pop the top of the middle seatbelt assembly and there are 2 nuts in there that need to be removed. Slide the cover off of the top of the seat. Next, release the center belt. In order to do this, there is a pinhole where the belt clips in near the bottom seat. Just push something small and strong in there and it will release.

Once you have done this, you have to find the mysterious clips.

You do not have to remove the bottom of the seat. If you look at the seat, where the back and bottom meet, there are some u-shaped brackets. The ones on the far right and far left are where the clips are. Stick your hand straight in towards the back wall of the cab and you will feel a bracket that is perpendicular to the back wall. The clips are at the top of these brackets. There is one at each end of the seat.

With a flathead screwdriver, you will have to stay to the inside of the bracket and move up towards the roof of the truck with the screwdriver. It will help to pull up on the seat as far as you can in this area of the seatback becuase the clip is about 4" up.

There is a slot in the seatback that you have to feed the screwriver through to push the clip back, so make sure that the screwdriver blade is vertical because it is a somewhat narrow opening. The other bracket is in the same spot on the passengers side.

Once you push these clips in, press down slightly on the top of the seat and then pull the seatback straight up. The reason I recommend pressing down slightly is to make sure that the clip is fully released. Once you do this, the seat should lift up and off.

Why don't you try reading the post made immediately after your initial post in this thread? It gives 2 options for double din headunits and what you would need to make the steering wheel controls work.

back seat removal

Hey FazMan,

Thanks for the help. I'd have never figured this out. Where did you get the manual? I've been looking all over for one.

Thanks.
