Vibe Gone
I still can not believe it but it is gone.I had a very slight vibration which was tolerable at the very beginning when i first bought this truck. Then mods started bigger tires ,bigger rims, lifts, spacers and e.t.c then i felt the vibration more and more each passing day until it became untolerable and my steering wheel was shaking about an inch back and forth between 45-60 miles either i am accilerating or decaccilerating it would not matter. What ever i did it did not work and could not find the problem. Then another vibration started to occur whenever i press on the brakes .Which was usual to me because i had the same kind of vibrations with my former lincoln navigator and other SUV'S.(These are big and heavy vehicles so rotors gets damage much easier).
This weekend i took my truck to my dealer and remachined my front rotors but only the front.(i think it was shaven by .3 mm but i am not sure)and the rotors were pure straight and smooth like silk after the process. So i took it to the test and as i expected the braking vibration was gone.I returned to my dealer payed my receipt after i thanked them.On the way home i was on the highway and stepped on the gas getting close to around 45-50 miles grasping the steering wheel hard waiting for the vibration to reoocur again THERE WAS NOTHING!!!! VIBE WAS COMPLETELY GONE .At first i could not it believe it deaccelerated and stepped harder on the gas this time 40-50-60-65 miles there was no vibe i was so happy but sso suspicious at the same time i tested for another 1 hour.It was gone for sure.
I wanted to share this with you guys having this steering vibration problem it might help you as well.Remachining the rotors is not pricey .The only badside of this process is due to heavyiness of these vehicless rotor gets weaker easily and each remachining process is only a temporary solution you need to remachine it after 10000 miles again due to how hard you drive your truck until the rotors needed to be changed completely at the end because each time you remachine it the thinner gets the rotors. But i think it does worth trying i balanced my tires numerous times(By the way i am using 325/55-r22 bfg goodrich with 22 inch rims) including road force balancing and front to backs and e.t.c and tried different things to get rid of this vibration and spend lots of money and it was waste. It still does not make sense and i still can not understand what does rotors got to do with my steering wheel vibration between 45-65 miles range and still can not believe remachining the rotors fixed it.The solution was just standing beside my nose and i could not see it for 3 months.I was just on the edge of ordering an aftermarket brake kit system with new rotors(i was suspicious of rotors but never gave chance) which will cost me 3-4 grands. Now i am going to my dealer tomorrow to remachine the back rotors as well.
