Lights For Running Boards

Just wondering if anyone know if I can add lights to running boards that don't have them or if someone has a mod for this.

Thanks
For my 05 when it comes in

I added Ford running boards to our Expedition a few yrs back and it had the light connector in place. However, I could not find a similar connection for My 04 f-150. I'll look again in the morning as lighting in My garage is not so good. If I can find one I plan to build my own by stringing LED's underneath. I'll let you know either way.

I scoured the underneath of My 04 4x4 SCAB (build date 09/04). No conventional light connection. However, I did find an electrical harness directly underneath the driver side door that appeared to couple many of the sensors. If the interior lights were part of this bundle it would be a simple splice. Wish I had a wiring diagram. Wonder if that would be on a disc?

05 150 KR, take a look at the photos in my signature link below (My trucks & other things). If you are getting the platform boards, you could do something like I did on my 2004.

I wanted to install lights on the 04 like I did on my Super Duty boards, but I couldn't make it happen, so I just went with small surface mounted lamps instead.

Looks like Red added lights post purchase. My 04 is a XLT. not sure if a Lariat has available connections where mine may not. Red, is your connection done through a existing harness?

I hooked mine up with the park/head lights so that they would be on anytime my head lights are on. Also when its dark and you unlock the truck they come on with the perimeter lighting.

Did you install the lights in the existing boards, or did you install different boards? Would you be able to fill us in on the model lights/boards and the wiring (where you tapped in)? I love the mod, too bad Ford didn't think of it

So these were installed on the boards by yourself or did they come with the boards.

If you did this can I get a couple closer shots maybe one at night how much light does it provide on the boards.

Thanks
Nice looking truck.

I ordered these step boards from bak-board and the light kit was optional. The holes were already there just had to pop out the plug and put the lights in.

It will be dark in an hour or so and I will run out and get a few night shots of them.

There may be a legal issue in some states (I live in MI) with running those lights at night when the headlights are on. I was looking into adding lights UNDER my boards to serve as an augment to the perimeter lighting on my 02 Screw, but never got around to it. I would just tie them into the dome light. I think it would be a pretty simple mod that. Maybe I'll try it with the 04.

Pics at dark.....

Here is the light itself...

And the lights at dark...kinda hard to tell much about it, due to it was raining out.

Neil, Red,

I like them both, I am going to look into each one and see what I like better maybe a combination of both never know.

Thanks for your time in taking photos, once I get it done I will get some pics out.
