Is there something wrong with me???

I just received a notification letter from the dispute board last night that they received my paper work in regards to the vibration issue that I'm having with my 2004 F-150. The dispute board letter said that within 40 days there will be a hearing and review of my case.

ANYWAY.....

In the mean time I needed to purchase a vehicle for my wife, so we looked at Dodge, Chevy, Honda, and Ford. In the back of my mind I wanted to avoid buying a Ford vehicle because the issues I'm having with Ford and my truck; however in the end I ended up purchasing a new Ford Freestar van last night. I just couldn't walk away.

Hi Ron,

If you and your wife shopped around and you still decided on the Freestar in spite of your frustrations with your F150's problems, it's probably the right vehicle for you. I hope it performs flawlessly for you.

Good luck with th DSB hearing/review. I've followed your posts detailing your saga with your F150 and and I empathize with you. Hopefully you'll soon be able to get into a vehicle that you'll be happy with.

I'm curious why you bought the Freestar over the Odyssey?

God forbid there is ever a mini-van in my garage, but from what I hear the Honda is the best of the best.

Good luck to you on your F-150.

The Freestar is incredible in crash ratings, year after year. The Odyssey excels as well but you pay MSRP and then some - and that's if you can even find a new one for sale.

blitzkrieg,

I bought the Freestar because my company has the Ford X-Plan and we also received a $5,000 rebate because it was an 2004 left over. We looked at the Honda but couldn't afford one. Honda didn't take enough off the sticker price to peak my interest.

Wow, it is a small world. Do you get back to visit Elverson ar all? I'm sure it hasn't changed much since you left, except for the Summerfield subdivision keeps on getting bigger. Still no traffic lights, though. I'm actually in East Nantmeal Twp. and live right off route 401. Chester County keeps getting more and more developed - I'm ready to move further out to the country, but we're also really happy with the school our kids are in.

The Freestar is a fantastic vehicle (for a minivan), every bit as good as the Odyssey. Once you get by the stigma, it's not that bad to drive. Plus it's hard to pass on the incentives Ford is offering.

Good luck with the dispute board.

Ford is no different than any of the other car manufacturers, in that they all go through about the same process to at least make the customers think that some consideration is being made on their behalf concerning complaints.

Some complaints are considered more than others. Most complaints don't get much further than the person answering the phone or opening the envelope.

Unless you work for Ford or one of the other car manufacturers, you would believe how many complaints they get.

John,

I have a good friend that lives in Elverson. Don't get down that way much now a days. I actually liked living in Elverson. I do know that area is getting developed big time. It's a shame.
