I want to be able to lift the mount out of the cup holder when not in use. I need something that will fit the cup holder tightly. The bottom of this mount is a 1/2" pipe flange & I doubt screws will last, I also hate to drill into the cup holder & it would be more difficult to remove. Any ideas? pkonnik, I did buy this kit but it is only 1/2" black pipe, a few fittings with black flex tubing to cover the pipe & a plexi laptop base.

This is what I ended up doing. I made a mold of the cup holder with epoxy. The base lifts out of the cup holder for storage.

That's pretty sweet. So what type of flexible tubing did you use for the neck? And what did you end up making the base out of? Something heavy I'd imagine.... details please!

I reworked a kit I got from mobilelaptopmount. I didn't use the black pipe from the kit, I used 1/2" copper tubing. I made a mold of the cup holder, set the flange in & pored the epoxy. Its not that heavy, the mold makes for a snug fit.
